1. What is the turnaround time for pre-orders?
Currently, pre-orders take about two weeks since they are made to order in small batches.
2. How long does shipping take on in stock products?
Order processing times vary from days to a week and expedited shipping within Canada will take 2-14 days. You will be notified via email once your order ships and a tracking number will be sent during that time.
3. Do you have local pick-up available?
Yes! Our local pick-up spot is in Scarborough. At this time pick-up remains contactless.
4. Do you have local delivery available?
There is no local delivery available at this time.
5. Do you offer refunds?
Due to the nature of our products, we have a strict no refund policy in place. However, if there is a problem with your order, please contact us at email@example.com and we will be happy to assist.
6. Where are your products manufactured?
All our products are manufactured in Canada with the finest quality, organic, fair-trade ingredients sourced from all over the world as well as ingredients right from our home garden. For example, some of our oils come from a certified organic facility in the UK, our raw Shea butter is fair-trade and handcrafted from Ghana, and our infused oils are made with herbs harvested from our home garden or sourced locally.
7. Are all your products completely natural?
We pride ourselves on offering completely natural products made with organic ingredients where applicable. The only ingredients that are not certified organic are the clays and salts used in our products as they are naturally derived from the Earth.
8. How do you ensure your products are safe to use without the use of synthetic preservatives?
All our products are made in a sterile environment with sterile equipment. In addition to that we use a combination of ingredients, one of which is Vitamin E oil to increase shelf life and make sure they are safe for use. However all products containing water have a natural perservative made from the flesh of coconuts to prevent growth of mold, fungi, and bacteria.
9. What is the shelf-life of your products?
Due to the lack of synthetic preservatives used, we recommend using our products within a one year time-frame.
10. What are essential oils and why do you use them in your products?
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that retain the natural aroma of their source. Although they provide a scent, they are very different from synthetic fragrances which are essentially chemicals. We carefully select organic, pure, authentic essential oils obtained through steam distillation in most of our products for their healing and aromatherapy benefits.
11. Do your products treat eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions?
We do not claim to treat any skin condition however, many of our customers have found relief from eczema, excessively dry skin, broken skin, and more from extended use of our products. We encourage you to give our products a try and see for yourself.
12. Are your products safe to use on kids?
Yes! They were first made for use on our kids. From The Devi Soap Collection, we highly recommend our soothing oat soap Gauri (available scented and unscented), our detoxifying neem soap Valli, and our healing turmeric soap Sundari for use on kids. Our body butters, lip balms, and the kid-safe chest rubs are made specifically for kids.
13. What is the difference between your soaps and commercial soaps?
Firstly, our soaps are handmade in small batches preserving the integrity of our ingredients and passing them onto you. Secondly, they are all natural, all organic where applicable, biodegradable, cruelty-free, and plant-based. Lastly, they contain no harsh and harmful chemicals, additives, or preservatives as they are free of SLS, SLES, MPG, parabens, synthetic colours and dyes.
14. Why do you use glycerin in your soaps?
Glycerin is the natural by-product of the saponification (soap-making) process and is known for its humectant property. Glycerin forms a barrier on the skin which locks in existing moisture from washing and also absorbs moisture from the atmosphere making it a great moisturizing ingredient.
15. How long can I expect each soap bar to last?
That depends on you and how often you use it and how you store it. To maximize the life of your soaps, store them in a cool, dry place to prevent shrinkage and let them dry on a bamboo soap holder between uses.
16. Are your products hypoallergenic?
As with any new product, whether natural or not, a test patch should always be conducted to ensure no allergies before you commit to using the product. However allergic reactions are highly unlikely due to the pure ingredients used in our products.
