Keeping Your Hair Healthy in Winter
As the temperature drops and the air gets dry, you may notice not only dry skin but dry, dull looking hair. A good weekly hot oil scalp massage can invigorate your scalp as well as deeply condition your hair for healthy, shiny hair. Simply warm up your oil of choice, massage your scalp, and take care to oil the ends of your hair for the ultimate deep conditioning treatment that'll protect your hair from the elements. Washing your hair less, using a good hair conditioner, an everyday finishing hair oil on the ends of your hair, and a humidifier to combat the dry air as you sleep all help, too!
Of course, my oil of choice is my Kundalini Herbal Hair Oil. It's super nourishing and hydrating and made by soaking a variety of herbs in a combination of organic cold-pressed oils. Each ingredient has a unique property that helps with hair and scalp health. You can find more about the ingredients used right here on our website.
Lastly, keep in mind that oiling has a cooling effect on the body and can make your body prone to colds in the colder months. Make yourself a cup of masala tea or ginger tea, both of which are warming, to have right after shower during fall and winter. This will help offset the cooling effect of oiling on the body. And if you didn't know, we sell freshly ground masala tea powder every Fall/Winter.
