Ingredient Spotlight: Turmeric (Kasthuri Manjal)

When we think of turmeric we tend to think of the turmeric we cook with. However, Kasthuri Turmeric, aromatic wild turmeric, has been used topically for centuries. Turmeric exhibits anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that when applied topically can brighten and even out skin tone. Studies have shown that turmeric also holds the ability to boost collagen production which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties turmeric is also beneficial for those with acne-prone skin. This is why you'll notice turmeric as an ingredient in our soap and as well as in our herbal face mask. The benefits increase significantly when left on the skin for a longer period of time such as through a face mask or face oil (coming soon!).
