October 2020

Here at Devi Wellness Co. we believe every girl is a "Devi" (goddess) and should be recognized as such. That's why we will be celebrating The International Day of the Girl Child by donating a portion of our October sales to help promote gender equality.

The International Day of the Girl Child addresses the challenges girls face, promotes girls' empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights. One way to fight gender inequality and empower girls is by investing in their education. Education changes everything for a girl. It will encourage and empower her to pursue her dreams and escape a life of poverty. She's also more likely to avoid early marriage, delay childbirth and be a better mother, professional and provider later.

Therefore a portion of our sales will be used to support Plan International's "Send A Girl to School" Campaign to help pay for school, books, uniform, materials, and more so that girls may be equipped with the power to decide their own futures. Our contribution, which will be matched 6 times, will help give girls in developing countries the education they need to rise above poverty and create a positive impact within their communities.

$20 from each body butter purchase and $5 from each lip balm purchase will go towards giving girls the gift of education and thus a dignified life. Our goal is $295 which will become $2065 when matched. Anything additional will be donated to Plan International's "Pads for Period" campaign, and matched 5 times to create more impact. Menstruation can be a barrier between a girl and her education. Donations will provide feminine hygiene supplies and training to keep girls healthy and free to attend school. In addition donations will also fund programs to end the stigma around periods and teach girls how to create sustainable pads for their communities.

It is not beyond our power to create a world which all children have access to equal education. Thank you for supporting us and helping us do our part.
